  Part A Hospital Care    
  This part of Medicare typically helps pay for inpatient hospital care, skilled nursing, home health care and hospice care. Most medicare beneficiaries do not pay for this coverage. There is a pretty high deductible per benefit period you must pay. There are also gaps in hospital coverage after 60 days and 90 days, and 150 days.

  This part of Medicare typically helps pay for doctor visits, outpatient care, and certain oncology drugs. Most people pay a monthly charge for this coverage. The cost is based on your income.   Part C Medicare Advantage Plans    

Medicare Advantage plans are health plans that are a part of the Medicare program. These plans are offered through private insurance companies and must provide coverage equal to or better than Original Medicare which is Part A Hospital and Part B Medical. They may provide extra benefits not covered by Original Medicare. Medicare Advantage plans may also include a prescription drug plan.

  If you enroll in one of these plans, you typically get all your Medicare-covered health care from that plan. You must have Part A and Part B and continue to pay the Medicare Part B premiums. There may be an additional monthly premium paid to the Medicare health plan.
  Medicare Advantage Plans have additional or different cost sharing than original Medicare.    
  Some Medicare Advantage plans have networks of medical providers and You may have to go to change your doctors or hospitals in Connecticut.    
  You can only enroll, disenroll, or change Medicare Advantage Plans at specific times during the year and / or for limited specific reasons.    
  If you have a Medicare Advantage plan, you do not need a Medigap plan or medicare Supplement plan.

  Part D Prescription Drug Plans    

Most Medicare prescription drugs coverage is provided by private insurance plans. You are not required to purchase this coverage, but if you dont, there may be a penalty.

You may add or change or drop Prescription Drug coverage ONLY at specific times or specific reasons during the year. You must be entitled to Part A or enrolled in Part B in order to purchase a Medicare Presciption Drug Plan.
